Antalyaspor complete move for Cape Verde-France forward Nuno da Costa

Cape Verde-France forward Nuno da Costa has joined Antalyaspor from Basaksehir, completing a move to the Turkish club on 2 September 2026.

The 35-year-old centre-forward arrives at Antalyaspor after one season with Basaksehir, where he moved from Kasimpasa in July 2025. The transfer takes Da Costa from the Super Lig to Antalyaspor’s 1.Lig squad.

Da Costa began the 2026-27 campaign with two appearances in the Uefa Conference League qualifying rounds, playing 34 minutes in total. He also featured four times at the 2026 World Cup, starting one match and recording 40% of the available minutes.

Born in Praia, Da Costa holds Cape Verdean and French nationality. He stands 1.82m tall and is right-footed, with his primary role coming as a centre-forward.

The move gives Da Costa a new club after a period that has also included spells with Kasimpasa, AJ Auxerre and Nottingham Forest. He joined Kasimpasa from Auxerre in September 2023 after helping the French club win the second-tier title in the 2023-24 season.

That championship success came after Da Costa’s return to France from Nottingham Forest, where he had spent part of the 2021-22 campaign following a loan spell with Caen. He also won the French League Cup with Strasbourg in the 2018-19 season.

Da Costa first moved into professional football with Valenciennes in 2015, arriving from Aubagne on a free transfer. He later joined Strasbourg for €1.5m before moving to Nottingham Forest for €2m in January 2020.

His recent moves have otherwise been completed without a transfer fee, including his switches to Auxerre and Basaksehir. His market value was listed at €400,000 at the time of the Antalyaspor move, although no fee was announced for the transfer.

Da Costa’s arrival continues a career spread across French and Turkish football, with his latest chapter beginning at Antalyaspor following his departure from Basaksehir. The Cape Verde-France striker has now completed his move to the 1.Lig club.
