Golden Arrows boss explains why Jonah Fabisch is still waiting for debut

Jonah Fabisch has not yet played for Golden Arrows because the Zimbabwean midfielder suffered a minor injury during training, coach Pitso Dladla has confirmed.

The 25-year-old joined Abafana Bes’thende during the current transfer window after leaving German club Erzgebirge Aue. However, he has been unable to make his first appearance for the South African side while he continues his recovery under the supervision of the club’s medical department.

“For now, he’s with our medical team,” said Dladla.

“He just sustained a minor injury in training. So, they are working on it.”

Fabisch’s absence means Golden Arrows are still waiting to see their latest signing in competitive action. Dladla did not give a timescale for the midfielder’s return, but will hope the injury is resolved soon so Fabisch can join a squad he believes is progressing well.

The coach said he was pleased with both the team’s performances and the development of individual players since he took charge. He also highlighted the connection between the work carried out in training and what Golden Arrows have produced on matchdays.

“Yes, we are proud with these boys. The good thing is what you see on a matchday is what you do every day in training,” he added.

“How you play is how you train. One is really, really pleased with the performance of the team holistically also with the individuals.

“We have lots of individuals that are growing. We are heading in the right direction.”

Dladla’s comments indicate that Fabisch remains part of Golden Arrows’ plans despite his delayed start at the club. For now, the midfielder’s rehabilitation is being handled by the medical team, with his debut dependent on his recovery from the training-ground injury.

Fabisch moved to Golden Arrows after his spell with Erzgebirge Aue in Germany. His arrival during the current transfer window added a Zimbabwean international presence to the Abafana Bes’thende squad, although he has yet to feature since completing the move.

Dladla’s assessment of the team was positive, with the coach saying the players’ progress is reflected in their performances and daily preparation. He believes Golden Arrows are moving in the right direction as a group, while several members of the squad continue to develop individually.
