Papa Diop joins PS Sakiet Edda as Senegal midfielder completes free transfer
Senegal midfielder Papa Diop has joined PS Sakiet Edda from AJEL Rufisque on a free transfer, bringing the 19-year-old into the Tunisian club’s midfield ranks.
Diop, who plays as a defensive midfielder, made the switch on 1 September 2026. He has signed a contract with PS Sakiet Edda running until 30 June 2029.
The move keeps Diop in Ligue 1 after his departure from AJEL Rufisque, with both clubs listed in the competition. He joined AJEL Rufisque from RS Yoff in September 2025, also on a free transfer, before spending the 2025-26 season with the Senegalese side.
During that campaign, Diop recorded 27 Ligue 1 appearances and played 2,171 minutes. The available record identifies him as a right-footed midfielder, offering PS Sakiet Edda a player whose primary role is positioned in front of the defence.
Born on 15 November 2006, Diop is a Senegal international at club level and has established his early senior career in Ligue 1. His arrival represents a move between clubs competing in the same division, while also giving him a new setting at a relatively early stage of his career.
PS Sakiet Edda have added Diop without a transfer fee, while his recorded market value is €200,000. The figure does not form part of the transfer agreement, which was completed as a free move from AJEL Rufisque.
Diop’s previous senior switch came when he left RS Yoff for AJEL Rufisque in 2025. His latest move follows one season at AJEL Rufisque and places him under contract at PS Sakiet Edda for the next three years.
The transfer was completed on 1 September 2026, with Diop now contracted to PS Sakiet Edda until the end of June 2029.
