Barcelona turn around Rayo Vallecano game with two goals in two minutes

Barcelona overturned an early deficit against Rayo Vallecano as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha scored in quick succession during the third round of La Liga.

Rayo Vallecano made the stronger start and put Barcelona under considerable pressure in the opening stages. Their approach was rewarded in the 12th minute when Sergio Camello found the net to give the visitors the lead.

The goal came after Barcelona had failed to convert a number of opportunities, allowing Rayo Vallecano to produce an impressive finish and move in front. It was a difficult opening for Barcelona, who had been expected to respond after falling behind on home territory.

Their answer, however, was immediate. Lamine Yamal equalised in the 19th minute, restoring balance to the contest and giving Barcelona fresh momentum.

Just two minutes later, Raphinha completed the turnaround by scoring Barcelona’s second goal. The rapid double strike changed the course of the match, with Barcelona moving from a goal down to a position of advantage in a brief spell.

The sequence was highlighted by video clips accompanying the match coverage, showing Rayo Vallecano’s opening goal and Barcelona’s swift response. The comeback represented a significant change in the balance of the game after the visitors had applied sustained pressure at the start.

Barcelona had gone into the match sitting fifth in the La Liga table with six points, although that position was provisional before the fixture. Rayo Vallecano began the game in 16th place with one point.

Real Madrid led the league standings with nine points at the time of the report. The result was still developing, with the match between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano under way when the goals were scored.

Camello’s opener initially appeared to put Rayo Vallecano in control, but Barcelona’s reaction ensured that the visitors’ advantage lasted only seven minutes. Yamal’s equaliser was followed almost immediately by Raphinha’s goal, allowing Barcelona to complete a dramatic reversal before the match moved into its later stages.

The two sides were therefore separated by Barcelona’s quick-fire response after Rayo Vallecano had capitalised on the hosts’ missed chances. With the game still in progress, Barcelona had moved ahead after a spell in which the visitors appeared to have the upper hand.
