Atletico de Madrid turn to Jonathan David as Julian Alvarez future remains unresolved

Atletico de Madrid are close to completing a deal for Juventus forward Jonathan David in the final hours of the summer transfer window, with the Canada international set to provide Diego Simeone with another attacking option as uncertainty continues over the future of Julian Alvarez.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico and Juventus have reached an agreement for David to move to the Spanish club on loan, with an option to buy included in the deal. The striker has already approved the transfer and is prepared to begin a new chapter in La Liga.

The proposed move is designed to strengthen Simeone’s forward line, but it also comes at a time when Atletico are facing questions over Alvarez’s position at the club.
