Mohamed Amoura set to join Nice on loan from Wolfsburg, reports Sky Germany

Nice have reached an agreement with Wolfsburg to sign Algeria forward Mohamed Amine Amoura on loan this summer, according to Sky Sport Germany.

The deal is expected to include an option for Nice to make the move permanent, with the 26-year-old set to leave for France on Sunday to undergo his medical examination.

Amoura’s proposed transfer would give him the chance to play alongside Egypt international Mohamed Abdelmonem at Nice, should the move be formally completed. The French club also have a number of other Arab and African players in their squad.

However, it remains uncertain whether Amoura would be joined by fellow Algeria international Hicham Boudaoui. Boudaoui has been linked with a departure from Nice by several reports before the summer transfer window closes.

Amoura spent last season with Wolfsburg, making 33 appearances for the German club. He scored eight goals and provided four assists during that campaign.

The forward has not played in any match since the start of the current season because of injury. His proposed move to Nice is therefore dependent on the completion of his medical, as well as the formal conclusion of negotiations between the two clubs.

Sky Sport Germany reported that the main terms of the transfer had been agreed, with the arrangement initially taking the form of a loan rather than a permanent move. Nice would then have the opportunity to sign Amoura outright if they choose to activate the purchase option.

For Amoura, the switch would represent a move from the Bundesliga to Ligue 1 and a new opportunity to establish himself in France. His record of eight goals and four assists in 33 appearances for Wolfsburg last season forms the basis of Nice’s interest, although his current injury means the club will first need to assess his fitness.

The proposed arrival would also strengthen the Algerian presence at Nice. Amoura could be part of the same squad as Abdelmonem, while Boudaoui’s future remains unresolved amid the speculation connecting him with a move away from the club.

No final transfer has yet been confirmed, but Amoura’s planned trip to France for medical tests suggests the agreement is close to completion. The loan, including an option to buy, is expected to proceed if he passes the examination and the remaining formalities are completed.
