Liverpool Champions League fixtures: Atletico Madrid first up at Anfield

Liverpool will begin their 2026-27 Champions League league-phase campaign at home to Atletico Madrid on 9 September, with the six-time European champions’ full schedule now confirmed.

The match at Anfield will kick off at 22:00. Liverpool will then travel to Austria to face LASK at Raiffeisen Arena on 14 October, with that match scheduled to start at 19:45.

Liverpool’s second home fixture will be against Villarreal on 20 October, also at 22:00, before a trip to Turkey to play Fenerbahce at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on 4 November. That game will begin at 19:45.

The club’s remaining league-phase fixtures are against Club Brugge, Porto, Inter and Lens. Liverpool will visit Club Brugge at Jan Breydel Stadium on 25 November, with kick-off at 22:00, before welcoming Porto to Anfield on 9 December for another 22:00 start.

In the new year, Liverpool will travel to Italy to play Inter at San Siro on 19 January 2027. Their final league-phase match will be at home to Lens on 27 January 2027, with both matches scheduled for 22:00.

Liverpool will play eight matches in the league phase, split evenly between four at home and four away. The format requires every team to face two opponents from each of the four seeding pots drawn for the competition, ranging from the first pot through to the fourth.

The league phase will start on 8 September and conclude on 27 January 2027.

Liverpool have won their past three matches against Atletico Madrid. Each of their two most recent victories came by a 3-2 scoreline, including the meeting played at Anfield in the opening round of last season’s campaign.

The fixture against Atletico therefore gives Liverpool an early opportunity to continue that recent record, while the club’s schedule also includes meetings with opponents from Austria, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Portugal, Italy and France.
