Cyril Ngonge makes Monza switch as Napoli winger joins on loan

Belgian-DR Congo winger Cyril Ngonge has joined Monza from Napoli on loan in a move worth €1m, giving the Serie A club a new left-footed option on the right flank.

Ngonge, 26, completed the transfer on 28 August 2026. The loan runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Napoli. He has signed for Monza, who also compete in Serie A, after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 season with his parent club.

The Ukkel-born forward is listed primarily as a right winger and is 1.80m tall. He prefers his left foot, adding a different profile to Monza’s attacking options.

Ngonge joined Napoli permanently from Hellas Verona in January 2024 for €20m. He subsequently spent time away from the club on loan, moving to Torino for the 2025-26 season before joining Espanyol in January 2026. His spell in Spain ended on 30 June, with the player returning to Napoli before making the move to Monza.

During his time at Napoli, Ngonge was part of the squad that won the Italian championship in the 2024-25 season. The title is the only senior achievement recorded in his career.

His professional career began in Belgium, where he came through the youth systems at Anderlecht and Club Brugge. He moved from Club Brugge to RKC Waalwijk on a free transfer in September 2020, then joined Dutch club FC Groningen for €200,000 in July 2021. A move to Hellas Verona followed in January 2023 for €550,000.

Ngonge’s latest transfer adds another chapter to a career that has included clubs in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain. His previous move to Napoli came after an established spell at Verona, while his latest switch keeps him in Italy and places him back in Serie A with Monza.

The winger’s Napoli contract is listed as running until 30 June 2027, matching the end date of his loan in Monza. The transfer was completed on 28 August, with Monza paying Napoli a €1m loan fee for the 2026-27 campaign.
