Mickael Nade bids emotional farewell to AS Saint-Etienne
After 12 years at AS Saint-Etienne, Mickael Nade has closed a major chapter of his career and sent an emotional farewell to the club’s supporters.
The 27-year-old centre-back, who joined the academy in 2014 and grew into a first-team regular, has now completed a move to United Football Club in the United Arab Emirates.
His message reflected just how much the club meant to him. Nade spoke about the pride of wearing the green shirt, the memories made at Geoffroy-Guichard and the bond he built with the fans through both good and difficult times. He also thanked the coaches, medical staff, club employees and teammates who helped him along the way.
The defender’s note was warm and personal, with gratitude running through every line. He made clear that he will always remember the welcome he received, the advice he was given and the sense of belonging he felt in Saint-Etienne.
For ASSE, it is the end of another long-serving homegrown story. For Nade, it is a fresh start abroad, but one that comes with obvious emotion. His farewell underlined how rare a deep connection between player and club can be, especially after more than a decade together.
