Al-Khaldiya unveil former Orlando Pirates playmaker Patrick Maswanganyi

Al-Khaldiya SC have officially unveiled Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi after the Bafana Bafana playmaker completed a surprise departure from Orlando Pirates.

The 28-year-old has joined the ambitious Bahrain-based club, who compete in the top-flight Bahraini Premier League. The move brings an end to Maswanganyi’s spell with the Soweto giants and marks a new chapter in his career in the Middle East.

Al-Khaldiya SC are regarded as one of the leading teams in Bahrain’s domestic competition. They finished second in the league standings last season, ending the campaign as runners-up.

Maswanganyi leaves Orlando Pirates after establishing himself as an important part of the Buccaneers’ midfield. His performances helped anchor the team’s engine room, while his attacking contribution was reflected in a notable record across all competitions.

During his time with the Sea Robbers, Maswanganyi made 120 appearances. He scored 28 goals and provided 21 assists before completing his move to Al-Khaldiya SC.
