Mohamed Salah wins Turkish league Goal of the Week award with stunning strike

Mohamed Salah has been named the Turkish league’s best goal of the second round after his impressive second strike helped Trabzonspor beat Basaksehir 2-1.

The Turkish league association confirmed that Salah’s goal against Basaksehir had been selected as the finest effort of the round. The Egypt international produced the moment of quality that helped Trabzonspor secure an exciting victory, with both of the club’s goals scored by the former Liverpool player.

Salah’s award-winning effort came after he exchanged passes with Trabzonspor team-mate Ernest Muci inside the penalty area. He then finished the move with a shot into the net in his trademark style, completing his second goal of the match and giving the goal the recognition of the league’s supporters and organisers.

The result gave Trabzonspor a 2-1 victory over Basaksehir in the second round of the Turkish league. Salah’s contribution was decisive, with his two goals settling a closely contested game and providing the main talking point after the final whistle.

The award also marked another notable moment in Salah’s early career in Turkey. He is now the third Egyptian player to score for Trabzonspor in the Turkish league, following Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” and Ayman Abdelaziz.

Salah made his first start for Trabzonspor in the Turkish league in the match against Basaksehir. He had begun the previous round’s fixture on the bench before coming on as a substitute, making his move into the starting line-up a significant step in his introduction to the competition.

His latest performance came after he joined the Turkish league following nine years filled with achievements at Liverpool. The former Al Mokawloon Al Arab player has now begun his Trabzonspor spell with an influential display, two goals and an individual award to accompany the team’s victory.

The Turkish league association’s decision means Salah’s second goal against Basaksehir has been officially recognised as the standout strike of the second round. It was created through his combination with Muci in the area and finished with the type of attacking technique that has become associated with the Egyptian forward.

For Trabzonspor, the win and Salah’s contribution provide a strong result in the second round of the campaign. For Salah, the award represents the latest distinction after his successful nine-year period with Liverpool and his first start in the Turkish league since moving to Turkey.
