Dave Rennie makes three changes as All Blacks prepare for Springboks Test in Cape Town

New Zealand head coach Dave Rennie has made three changes to his starting XV for Saturday’s second Test against South Africa in Cape Town, with Leroy Carter, Simon Parker and George Bower brought into the side.

The match is the latest meeting in the Greatest Rivalry series and will kick off in Cape Town at 17:10 on Saturday.

Carter comes into the team on the left wing, while Parker starts at blindside flanker and Bower is named at loosehead prop. Tupou Vaa’i also moves from flanker into the second row.

The changes mean Patrick Tuipulotu and Xavier Numia have been included among the replacements rather than the starting team.

Ardie Savea will captain the All Blacks from number eight, with Luke Jacobson retaining the openside flanker role. Vaa’i will line up alongside Fabian Holland in the locks, while Bower joins Tyrel Lomax and Codie Taylor in the front row.

Damian McKenzie starts at full-back, with Will Jordan on the right wing and Carter on the left. Quinn Tupaea and Jordie Barrett form the midfield pairing, while Ruben Love is selected at fly-half and Cam Roigard starts at scrum-half.

The All Blacks’ replacements are Asafo Aumua, Xavier Numia, Fletcher Newell, Patrick Tuipulotu, Peter Lakai, Kyle Preston, Anton Lienert-Brown and Josh Moorby.

The selection changes come as the All Blacks prepare for the second Test against the Springboks in the Cape Town leg of the series.
