Jesus Owono: Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper signs for FC Andorra until 2029

Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper Jesus Owono has returned to FC Andorra from Alaves, completing a move that will keep him at the LaLiga 2 club until June 2029.

Owono, 25, joins Andorra after spending the 2025-26 season with the club on loan from Alaves. That loan ended on 30 June, with the goalkeeper subsequently returning to Alaves before switching back to FC Andorra on 26 August.

The move gives Owono a fresh start with a club he already knows, following his period in the Spanish top flight. He was registered with Alaves during the 2025-26 campaign and remains listed as a goalkeeper, the position in which he has played throughout his senior career.

Born in Bata, Owono holds Equatorial Guinea and Spanish nationality. He is 1.86m tall and can use either foot, attributes recorded as part of his player profile.

Owono began his development in Spain with Antiguoko’s youth set-up before joining Real Sociedad’s youth ranks. He later returned to Antiguoko on loan and then moved to Alaves Youth in 2017, making his way through the club’s academy.

After progressing to Alaves B, he joined San Ignacio in 2019 and spent two seasons there before returning to Alaves B in 2021. His advancement continued with a move into the Alaves first-team set-up in July 2022.

The goalkeeper’s first spell at FC Andorra began in July 2025, when he joined on loan from Alaves. He returned to his parent club at the end of that arrangement, but the two clubs have now completed another transfer involving Owono.

His new contract with FC Andorra runs until 30 June 2029. Owono is now part of the club’s squad for the 2026-27 LaLiga 2 season, having joined from Alaves on 26 August 2026.
