Mostafa Mohamed ready to revive Turkey chapter with Konyaspor

Mostafa Mohamed is on the verge of ending his time with FC Nantes and returning to Turkish football, with the Egypt striker expected to join Konyaspor in a transfer worth about €1m.

The 28-year-old forward is preparing to leave Ligue 1 after a spell in France that produced both positive and difficult moments. His imminent departure marks the latest stage in a period of uncertainty at FC Nantes, where he has become less prominent in recent months.

Mohamed has been looking for a move that would allow him to play more regularly. The striker’s reduced involvement prompted him to seek a way out of the club, with Konyaspor now providing an opportunity to relaunch his career in the Super Lig.

He is expected to travel to Turkey in the coming hours. Once there, Mohamed will undergo a medical before completing his contract with Konyaspor and formalising the transfer.

The switch will also represent a return to a league the Egypt international already knows well. Before moving to France, Mohamed enjoyed a successful spell with Galatasaray, where his physical style and presence in attack made a strong impression.

That previous experience in Turkish football has helped make Konyaspor a familiar destination for the forward. His profile had previously proved effective in the country, and he will now attempt to reproduce that impact after finding his opportunities more limited at FC Nantes.

The proposed €1m deal brings an end to Mohamed’s time with the French club, following a Ligue 1 adventure that has included contrasting periods. While his stay in France was marked by highs and lows, the immediate priority for the player is to secure regular playing time again.

Konyaspor’s move for Mohamed therefore offers a fresh start rather than simply a change of club. The striker is set to return to an environment in which he has already performed successfully, while FC Nantes prepare to complete the departure of a player who has fallen down the pecking order in recent months.

The transfer remains subject to the medical examination and the finalisation of contractual details. If those steps are completed as expected, Mohamed will officially leave FC Nantes for Konyaspor and begin the next chapter of his career in the Super Lig.
