Mostafa Mohamed move to Konyaspor depends on Blaz Kramer’s future

Mostafa Mohamed’s proposed move from Nantes to Konyaspor is being held up by uncertainty over the future of Slovenian striker Blaz Kramer, according to reports in Turkey.

The Turkish club are currently in talks with Nantes over a deal for the Egypt international, but are not expected to complete the transfer until Kramer’s situation has been resolved.

Kramer is attracting interest from several clubs, including Antalyaspor, who have already made an offer for the 30-year-old. However, Konyaspor consider that proposal to be far below their valuation of the forward.

The Slovenian has also asked Konyaspor to extend his contract for a further three years and increase his salary. The club are willing to offer a two-year renewal instead, but the two sides have not reached an agreement.

According to the Turkish website Konyanin Sesi, the possible departure of Kramer would allow negotiations over Mostafa Mohamed’s move to accelerate.

Earlier, French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Mostafa Mohamed was close to joining Konyaspor in a transfer worth about one million euros.

The 27-year-old has one season remaining on his contract with Nantes, which is due to expire in the summer of 2027. Nantes were relegated to the French second tier last season.

Mostafa Mohamed missed most of Nantes’ pre-season after stopping training at the beginning of the campaign. He later returned to work with the club’s reserve team and was absent from Nantes’ first three matches of the season.

Nantes dismissed their manager after losing those opening three fixtures because of the team’s poor results.

A move to Turkey would see Mostafa Mohamed return to a league he already knows. The former Zamalek striker previously played in Turkey with Galatasaray before moving permanently to Nantes.

Nantes signed him from Galatasaray for 6.5m euros. He has made 136 appearances for the French club since joining three years ago, scoring 29 goals.

Mostafa Mohamed could now continue his career in Turkey, where he may join fellow Egyptian Mohamed Salah, who moved to Trabzonspor. However, the proposed transfer remains dependent on whether Konyaspor can agree a solution with Kramer or find a way to create space for another striker in their squad.

For now, the Turkish side’s negotiations with Nantes are continuing, but the outcome of Kramer’s contract talks is considered the key factor in determining whether Mostafa Mohamed completes his move.
