Togo’s ASKO enter CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying as Dynamique FC fight to survive

ASKO of Togo will play their first match in the qualifying competition for the 2027 CAF Women’s Champions League when they face Dynamique FC of Benin today.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT and represents a decisive moment for Dynamique FC, who are already playing their second fixture in the group.

Dynamique FC began their campaign with a 3-0 defeat by USFA in their opening match. As a result, the Benin side must avoid another loss if they are to remain in contention. A defeat against ASKO would mean Dynamique FC are eliminated from the competition.

The qualification section features a group of three teams, leaving little room for error after each match. USFA currently occupy top spot following their victory over Dynamique FC, while ASKO are yet to play.

For ASKO, the fixture marks the start of their bid to progress through the qualifying competition. The Togolese club will be entering the group at a point when one team has already played and the other has taken an early lead.

The contrast between the two sides is clear. ASKO arrive for their opening game, while Dynamique FC are seeking to recover from a heavy defeat in their first outing. That result has placed the Benin club under immediate pressure ahead of their meeting with the Togolese representatives.

The outcome will also have a direct bearing on the shape of the three-team group. USFA’s 3-0 win has given the Burkina Faso side the advantage, with Dynamique FC now facing the possibility of exiting after only two matches if they lose again.

ASKO will therefore have the opportunity to make a positive start to their qualification effort, while Dynamique FC must respond to their difficult opening result. With the group containing only three teams, the match carries significant importance for both clubs, although the consequences are particularly severe for the Benin side.

Kick-off is set for 16:00 GMT. It will be ASKO’s first appearance in this qualifying campaign and the second match for Dynamique FC, whose previous outing ended in a 3-0 defeat against USFA.

USFA remain the group leaders after that result. Dynamique FC’s meeting with ASKO now provides the next chapter in the qualification process, with the Benin club knowing that another defeat would bring their participation to an end.
