Ousmane Sow joins Al-Majd SC in Libya

Former Génération Foot captain Ousmane Sow has joined Libyan club Al-Majd Sports Club on a one-year contract, with an option to extend his stay for another season.

The midfielder, who previously won the Senegalese championship with Jaraaf in 2024, is moving to the Libyan league after leaving HLM following a difficult campaign in Senegalese Ligue 1.

Sow has opted for a fresh challenge in Libya as he looks to rebuild his career and regain his form following a disappointing season in Senegal.

The move takes him to Tripoli-based Al-Majd SC, where he will have the opportunity to establish himself in a new football environment. His contract initially runs for one season, although the agreement allows for a further year if the extension option is exercised.

The transfer comes towards the end of the transfer window, giving the Senegalese midfielder a new destination as he seeks to put his recent difficulties behind him.

Sow previously served as captain of Génération Foot, a club known for its role in developing Senegalese football talent. His leadership experience and previous achievements in domestic football will form part of his background as he begins this latest chapter of his career.

His time at Jaraaf also stands out, having helped the Senegalese club win the national championship in 2024. That success remains a notable achievement in his career, although his subsequent spell at HLM proved more challenging.

The midfielder now faces the task of adapting to Libyan football and making an impact at his new club. The one-year agreement provides him with an opportunity to settle into the team, while the extension option leaves open the possibility of a longer stay.

For Sow, the move represents a chance to start afresh after a difficult period in Senegal. He will be hoping to make the most of the opportunity at Al-Majd SC and put himself back on a positive path.

Further details about his role at the club and the circumstances surrounding the extension option have not been provided.
