Alasana Manneh: Gambia midfielder joins Kolding IF from Hibernian on free transfer
The Gambia midfielder Alasana Manneh has joined Danish club Kolding IF from Hibernian on a free transfer, switching from Scotland’s Premiership to the 1.Division.
Manneh, 28, has signed a contract with Kolding running until 30 June 2027. The central midfielder, who is left-footed, completed the move on 25 August 2026 after a spell with Hibernian that began in January 2025.
The Banjul-born player arrives in Denmark with previous experience of the country’s second tier, having helped Odense Boldklub win the Danish second-tier title in 2025. He joined Odense from Polish side Gornik Zabrze in August 2022 in a €600,000 transfer, before moving to Hibernian in January 2025.
Manneh began his senior-level career in Spain after progressing from the Aspire Academy to Barcelona’s under-19 side in 2016. He subsequently spent loan spells with CE Sabadell and Etar before making a free transfer to Gornik Zabrze in July 2019.
His time at Etar included two separate loan moves from Barcelona B, while his switch to Gornik marked his first move away from the Barcelona system on a permanent basis. He later established himself in Denmark, where his spell with Odense ended with a league title.
Kolding have secured the 28-year-old as they prepare for a new chapter in his career, with the move taking him from Hibernian’s Scottish Premiership environment back to Danish football. Manneh’s recorded market value at the time of the transfer was €450,000, although no transfer fee was paid for his move to Kolding.
Manneh is now a Kolding IF player on a free transfer from Hibernian, with his contract in Denmark lasting until June 2027.
