Orlando Pirates name starting XI for African Stars CAF Champions League tie

Orlando Pirates return to CAF Champions League action on Saturday when they face African Stars at the Botswana National Stadium.

The match, scheduled for 17 October 2026, comes after Pirates restored confidence with a 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday.

That result followed the disappointment of their MTN8 final defeat. The Buccaneers also secured their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League by beating La Cure Waves in the previous round last month.

African Stars reached this stage after recovering from a 3-1 first-leg defeat by Mangasport. The Namibian side won the return fixture 2-0 and progressed on the away-goals rule.

The match will not be played in Namibia, with African Stars having to move the fixture to the Botswana National Stadium because there are no CAF-approved venues in their home country.

Orlando Pirates will start with Chaine, Sibisi, Seema, Ndaba, Sigomoshe, Selepe, Mbatha, Masilela, Moremi, Lungu and Mbuthuma.

The Pirates substitutes are Dladla, Zulu, Hotto, Mthiyane, Dansin, Padime, Kgositsile, Mabuza and Makgopa.
