Reading U21 sign England and Ghana winger Jeremiah Berkeley-Agyepong from Chelsea
Reading U21 have signed England and Ghana winger Jeremiah Berkeley-Agyepong from Chelsea U18, adding the 17-year-old left-sided attacker to their Premier League 2 squad.
Berkeley-Agyepong completed the move on 25 August 2026 after spending the previous part of his development with Chelsea. He joins Reading as a left winger and is able to operate from his preferred left-footed side.
The teenager was born in London and represents both English and Ghanaian footballing backgrounds. He is listed at 1.78m and was born on 27 July 2009.
Berkeley-Agyepong joined Chelsea U18 from Chelsea’s youth setup at the start of the 2025-26 season. He subsequently spent part of that campaign with Ipswich U18 on loan, moving there in September 2025 before returning to Chelsea at the end of May.
His switch to Reading gives him a new route into Premier League 2 football after his time in the youth systems at Chelsea and Ipswich. Reading U21 compete in the competition during the 2026-27 season, placing the move within the club’s development structure.
The transfer also represents Berkeley-Agyepong’s latest step after moving between three youth environments in a little over a year. He began the 2025-26 campaign with Chelsea U18, joined Ipswich U18 during the season and returned to Chelsea before making his next move to Reading.
At Reading, he joins a squad built around players developing towards senior football. His recorded role is on the left wing, with his left foot listed as his preferred one, giving a clear indication of where he is expected to feature.
Berkeley-Agyepong has signed a contract with Reading U21 running until 30 June 2028.
The move was registered on 25 August, with Berkeley-Agyepong completing his switch from Chelsea U18 to Reading U21.
