Egyptian referees Mohamed El Ghazi and Ahmed Tawfik Talab appointed for Jordanian Super Cup final

The Egyptian Football Association has announced that Mohamed El Ghazi and Ahmed Tawfik Talab will officiate the Jordanian Super Cup final between Al Faisaly and Al Hussein Irbid next Friday.

The match will be played at the Amman International Stadium, with El Ghazi appointed as the referee and Talab serving as one of his assistants.

Their selection follows a request from the Jordan Football Association for two Egyptian officials to take charge of the final. The decision means Egypt will provide part of the on-field officiating team for the competition’s title match.

Al Hussein Irbid reached the final after a convincing 5-0 victory over Al Ramtha in the semi-finals. Al Faisaly secured the other place in the final by beating Al Wehdat 2-1.

The appointment of El Ghazi and Talab comes after another Egyptian refereeing pair was involved in the semi-final stage. Mohamed Maarouf and Ahmed Hossam Taha officiated during the last four of the Jordanian Super Cup.

El Ghazi will occupy the central refereeing role when Al Faisaly face Al Hussein Irbid, while Talab will support him as an assistant referee. Their involvement was confirmed by the Egyptian Football Association following the Jordanian federation’s request for assistance with the final.

The contest at the Amman International Stadium will bring together the two teams that came through contrasting semi-final matches. Al Hussein Irbid advanced with five unanswered goals against Al Ramtha, while Al Faisaly recorded a narrower 2-1 win over Al Wehdat.

With both finalists now confirmed, attention turns to Friday’s meeting and the Egyptian officials selected to oversee it. The appointment continues the use of Egyptian referees in the tournament, following the participation of Mohamed Maarouf and Ahmed Hossam Taha in the semi-final fixtures.
