Al Shabab announce signing of Senegal goalkeeper Mory Diaw

Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab have announced the signing of Senegal international goalkeeper Mory Diaw.

The 33-year-old shot-stopper joins the Riyadh-based club on a permanent transfer from French Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre, bringing his time in France to an end.

Diaw still had a year remaining on his contract with Le Havre, but the two sides have reached an agreement that has paved the way for the experienced goalkeeper to continue his career in Saudi Arabia.

The Senegalese international has reportedly signed a one-year contract with Al Shabab and will be expected to provide experience and stability between the posts as the club prepares for another demanding Saudi Pro League campaign.

Diaw arrives in Saudi Arabia after spending several years playing across Europe, where he built a reputation as an experienced goalkeeper.

His move to Al Shabab represents a fresh chapter in his career and gives him the opportunity to test himself in a league that has continued to attract established players from around the world.

The goalkeeper has already begun settling into his new environment, joining his Al Shabab teammates in training shortly after the club announced his signing.

Diaw will now turn his attention to adapting to his new surroundings and earning a regular place in the starting lineup as Al Shabab seek a strong campaign in the Saudi top flight.
