Edan Diop shines for AS Monaco with goal and assist in Toulouse draw

Edan Diop made a notable contribution for AS Monaco on Saturday, scoring his first goal of the season and providing an assist in the 2-2 draw with Toulouse on matchday six of Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who is of Senegalese origin, played a key role in Monaco’s attacking display and produced one of his most influential performances of the campaign so far.

Diop opened his account for the season with a goal and then set up another, underlining his importance in the Principality club’s attacking play. His contribution, however, was not enough to secure victory as Monaco and Toulouse shared the points after a closely contested match.

The performance offers Diop a potential boost as he continues his development within the Monaco squad. The midfielder is valued at €3m by Transfermarkt and remains under contract with AS Monaco until 2028.
