Algeria forward Mohamed Amoura emerges as Al-Ittihad target

Algerian forward Mohamed Amoura is being linked with a move from Wolfsburg to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

The 26-year-old centre-forward is under contract with Wolfsburg until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would require the Saudi club to negotiate a transfer rather than sign him as a free agent.

Amoura joined Wolfsburg permanently from Union Saint-Gilloise in July 2025 after an initial loan spell. The German club paid €14.75m for his services, having previously paid a €3m loan fee for the 2024-25 season.

He has yet to make a league appearance for Wolfsburg in the 2026-27 campaign, with the club having played two matches in the 2. Bundesliga. He has also not featured in the DFB-Pokal this season.

Amoura did appear once for Algeria at the 2026 World Cup, playing seven per cent of the available minutes without scoring or assisting.

His reported market value is €20m, while his highest recorded value was €32m. The forward’s previous honours include the Belgian Cup, won with Union Saint-Gilloise in 2024, and the Swiss Cup with Lugano during the 2021-22 season.

Amoura began his senior career at ES Setif before moving to Lugano in 2021 and later joining Union Saint-Gilloise. He remains a Wolfsburg player, with his long-term contract running through the end of June 2029.
