Serigne Deme switches to Dutch football as Volendam announce Juve Next Gen move

Italian-Senegalese winger Serigne Deme has joined FC Volendam from Juve Next Gen, moving to the Netherlands to continue his career in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

The 21-year-old has signed a contract with Volendam running until 30 June 2028. Deme plays primarily on the left wing and is right-footed, while his 1.86m frame adds a physical dimension to his attacking role.

Deme arrives at Volendam after spending the previous stage of his career with Juve Next Gen, the development side of Juventus competing in Italy’s Serie C. He joined the club on 15 January 2025 from Sasso Marconi.

His move to Sasso Marconi followed a free transfer from San Marino in July 2024. Before entering senior football, Deme came through the youth system at SPAL, progressing from the club’s under-17 side to the under-18s and then SPAL Under-19.

Deme’s time with SPAL included a notable youth achievement, as he helped SPAL Under 18 win the Italian Under-18 championship in the 2022-23 season. He subsequently stepped up to the Under-19 team before leaving the club during the following campaign.

The move to Volendam takes Deme into Dutch football and supplies the winger with a new setting after his spell in the Italian game. Volendam compete in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, the Netherlands’ second tier, where Deme will wear the club’s number 14 shirt.

Born on 4 February 2005, Deme holds Italian and Senegalese nationality. His arrival adds a young wide player to Volendam’s squad, with the club securing his services on a deal that keeps him in the Netherlands through the end of the 2027-28 season.

Deme’s career has so far taken him from the SPAL academy to senior football in Italy, including spells with Victor San Marino, Sasso Marconi and Juve Next Gen. He now begins the next chapter of that journey after completing his move to FC Volendam.
