Manchester City move for Ayyoub Bouaddi reaches medical stage in €100m Lille deal
Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi is undergoing a medical at Manchester City as the Morocco international closes in on a move to the Premier League club during the current summer transfer window.
Journalist Abdellah Boulma reported on X: “Ayyoub Bouaddi is currently undergoing his medical at Manchester City.”
The medical represents a significant step towards completing a transfer which is expected to be worth up to €100m, including add-ons. Bouaddi has already agreed personal terms with Manchester City and is now being assessed before the move can be formally completed.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had reported on X on Sunday that Manchester City had reached an agreement with Lille for the midfielder.
“An agreement has been reached between the two clubs over a deal that could reach €100m including add-ons,” Romano said.
He added: “Manchester City have received the green light from Lille to complete the signing of the Moroccan star.”
Romano also confirmed that Bouaddi had agreed the personal terms of his contract with Manchester City in July. The midfielder is now on course to join the club’s project, subject to the final stages of the transfer process.
A separate post accompanying the latest update stated in French: “Medical examination in progress for Ayyoub Bouaddi in Manchester.”
Bouaddi’s move is therefore close to becoming official, with the medical the latest development after the two clubs reached agreement over the fee and the player settled the terms of his contract. No completed signing has yet been announced, but the transfer has advanced beyond negotiations and approval from Lille has been granted.
Manchester City’s permission to proceed came after Lille agreed to the financial structure of the deal, which includes performance-related additions and could ultimately rise to €100m. The agreement had been followed by an understanding between Bouaddi and Manchester City over his personal conditions in July.
The latest reports indicate that the Moroccan midfielder is now in Manchester to complete the required checks. Once those have been concluded, the deal can move towards its formal signing and announcement.
The move would take Bouaddi from Lille to Manchester City, with the player set to become part of the English club’s long-term plans. His medical and the previously agreed personal terms leave the transfer close to its final stage, while the €100m package remains the reported value of the proposed deal.
