Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba passes medical ahead of Manchester United move

Cameroon international Carlos Baleba has reportedly completed his medical with Manchester United as he closes in on a move from Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to reports, the 22-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils on a five-year contract, with an option to extend his stay until 2032.

Manchester United are now working to complete the final paperwork for the transfer, which is expected to be worth £70 million.

The agreement reportedly includes an initial guaranteed payment of £65 million, with a further £5 million available in performance-related bonuses.

Baleba’s imminent arrival comes as Manchester United look to strengthen their midfield following a disappointing start to the new campaign.

The Red Devils suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Hull City on Saturday in their opening Premier League fixture, increasing pressure on the club to reinforce the squad.

The Cameroon star is now expected to become the latest major addition to Manchester United’s squad as the club continues its summer recruitment drive.
