Ismaïla Sarr on the radar of Liverpool

Liverpool have reportedly added Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr to their list of attacking targets as they continue to explore options in the summer transfer window.

According to reports, the Premier League champions have identified the Senegal international as one of several possibilities to strengthen their attacking department ahead of the new season.

However, Liverpool are not currently the most active club in the pursuit of the 28-year-old, with Turkish giants Galatasaray said to be pushing more aggressively to secure his signature.

Galatasaray are understood to have stepped up their interest in Sarr as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Turkish club are reportedly keen to make progress in negotiations, while Liverpool have so far maintained their interest at the monitoring stage.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, would prefer to keep hold of one of their key attacking players. The London club are under no immediate pressure to sell Sarr, particularly given his contractual situation and importance to the squad.

Despite Palace’s desire to retain the winger, reports indicate that the club could be willing to consider a substantial offer of around £50 million or more.

Sarr’s current contract with Crystal Palace is reportedly due to run until June 2029, giving the club considerable leverage in negotiations.

The forward has established himself as an important figure at Selhurst Park since joining the club and his pace, direct running and ability to operate from wide attacking positions have made him an attractive option for clubs looking to add speed and penetration to their forward line.

For Liverpool, his profile could make him an appealing candidate as they assess different attacking options. The Reds are understood to be considering several players rather than focusing exclusively on Sarr, meaning his inclusion on the shortlist does not necessarily indicate that a formal bid is imminent.

Galatasaray’s stronger interest could nevertheless accelerate the situation, particularly if the Turkish side decide to meet Palace’s valuation.

For now, Crystal Palace remain keen to retain Sarr, while Liverpool continue to monitor the situation and Galatasaray push to take the lead in the race for the Senegal international.

With the transfer window approaching its conclusion, Sarr’s future could become one of the stories to watch if either interested club decides to make a serious offer for his services.
