Al-Ahli linked with Fenerbahce’s Portugal defender Nelson Semedo
Nelson Semedo, the Portugal defender at Fenerbahce, is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
The 32-year-old right-back joined Fenerbahce from Wolves on a free transfer in July 2025 and remains under contract with the Turkish club until 30 June 2027. There is no indication that a transfer has been agreed, and the rumour does not include a proposed fee.
Semedo has featured regularly for Fenerbahce in Champions League qualifying this season, starting all five of the club’s matches in the competition and playing 92% of the available minutes. He has made one Super Lig appearance, with 11% of the league minutes recorded so far.
The defender began his senior career at Benfica before moving to Barcelona in 2017. He won two Portuguese league titles with Benfica and two Spanish league titles during his time at Barcelona, while also earning international honours with Portugal.
Semedo was part of Portugal’s squad during the 2026 World Cup, appearing in four matches, and helped the national team win the Nations League in 2025. His current market value is listed at €6m, although no valuation or offer has been attached to the link with Al-Ahli.
Fenerbahce signed Semedo only a year ago, and his existing contract means any move would require the clubs to reach an agreement before his deal expires in June 2027.
