Bayern Munich open door to Alphonso Davies sale
Bayern Munich could consider selling Alphonso Davies if a sufficiently lucrative offer arrives, despite the Canadian defender regaining his place in Vincent Kompany’s starting lineup.
According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the German champions remain open to negotiations over the 25-year-old, although they have no intention of forcing him out of the club. His substantial salary and the arrival of Nathaniel Brown have reportedly contributed to Bayern’s willingness to consider a potential transfer.
Davies has recovered from an injury-disrupted previous campaign and has once again established himself as Bayern’s first-choice left-back. His performances have strengthened his position under Kompany, who remains a strong admirer of the Canadian international.
However, Bayern signed Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer, giving the club another high-quality option on the left side of defence. The 23-year-old German international provides additional depth and could make Davies’ departure easier to accommodate if the right offer arrives.
Falk has stressed that Bayern are not actively pushing Davies towards the exit but could reconsider their position if a major bid is submitted.
The defender signed a contract extension in February 2025 that keeps him at the Allianz Arena until 2030. His long-term deal gives Bayern considerable control over his future, although his salary remains a factor in the club’s financial considerations.
A potential transfer would also depend on Davies’ willingness to leave Munich. Despite previous speculation surrounding his future, there is currently no confirmed agreement with another club.
For now, Bayern appear content to retain the defender, but a substantial offer could reopen discussions when the transfer window arrives.
