Fiorentina continue negotiations for Bayer Leverkusen winger Ernest Poku

Fiorentina are continuing negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over a possible transfer for winger Ernest Poku.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the 22-year-old has become a serious target for the Serie A club as they look to add more pace and creativity to their attack.

Fiorentina are reportedly prepared to offer Poku improved personal terms, while the former AZ Alkmaar player is understood to be interested in moving to Italy. His flexibility makes him particularly appealing, as he can operate across several attacking positions and provide a direct threat from wide areas.

Leverkusen are seeking a fee between €20 million and €25 million for the forward. Fiorentina are working to find an agreement with the Bundesliga side, but the valuation could make a permanent transfer difficult.

As a result, the Italian club are also considering a loan arrangement if they cannot complete an outright deal. That option could give Poku the chance to secure regular football while allowing Fiorentina to manage their spending.

Poku enjoyed a productive campaign last season, recording five goals and seven assists in all competitions for Leverkusen. Those numbers have increased his appeal and strengthened Fiorentina’s determination to continue talks.

No agreement has been reached, but discussions remain active as both clubs consider possible solutions before the window closes.
