KSK Heist sign Belgian-Ghanaian winger Aaron Osei Bonsu after Rot Weiss Ahlen exit

Belgium and Ghana winger Aaron Osei Bonsu has joined KSK Heist from Rot Weiss Ahlen on a free transfer. The 21-year-old right winger completed his move to the Belgian club on 21 August 2026 and will play in the 1ste Nationale VV.

Bonsu, who was born in Kumasi, Ghana, is eligible to represent both Belgium and Ghana. He is listed as a left-footed right winger and stands 1.75m tall. His arrival gives Heist a young attacking player with experience in football in both Belgium and Germany.

The move follows a spell with Rot Weiss Ahlen, who compete in the Westfalenliga 1. Bonsu joined the German club in November 2025 after a period without a club. He made 17 appearances in the Oberliga Westfalen, scoring once and providing one assist.

Before moving to Germany, Bonsu had a spell in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Dhafra FC. He joined the club from Beerschot VA on a free transfer in September 2024, having been part of the Beerschot squad that won the Belgian Second League in the 2023-24 season.

His time at Beerschot followed progression through the club’s youth structure. Bonsu moved from Beerschot’s under-18 side to the under-23 team before joining the senior squad in 2023. He also recorded 19 appearances in 3de Nationale VV B and four in 2de Nationale VV B during his career.

Heist’s new signing now returns to Belgian football after his season in Germany. His move represents another step through the country’s domestic system, having previously played for Beerschot at senior and youth level before spells abroad.

Bonsu’s transfer was completed on 21 August 2026.
