Tottenham close in on Omar Marmoush deal as Manchester City exit gathers pace

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to complete the signing of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush in the coming days, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano says Marmoush has already agreed personal terms with Tottenham and is enthusiastic about moving to the north London club. The Egypt international could become a significant player in Roberto De Zerbi’s new project, with optimism growing that the transfer will be finalised.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Omar Marmoush is the next player who will move from Manchester City to Tottenham after Savinho.”

The comments suggest Tottenham are preparing to follow up their agreement for Savinho with another deal involving a Manchester City player during the current summer transfer window. However, Romano stressed that Marmoush’s move is unlikely to be completed immediately.

He added: “Marmoush already has an agreement on personal terms for his contract with Tottenham Hotspur. He is also excited about the move and about the new project at Tottenham, with the possibility of becoming a very important player for Roberto De Zerbi.”

Marmoush has found opportunities limited at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, according to Romano, and the situation is expected to remain similar this season with Enzo Maresca.

“Marmoush found very limited space to play at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, and the expectation is that the situation will continue in the same way this season with Enzo Maresca,” Romano said.

He concluded: “Tottenham are expected to be able to complete the signing of Marmoush, probably not today, but in the coming days. There is optimism about completing the deal.”

The proposed transfer would see Marmoush leave Manchester City after a period in which he has struggled to secure regular playing opportunities. Tottenham are now viewed as the likely destination, with the player’s personal terms already agreed and the club hopeful of reaching a full agreement soon.

Romano’s update effectively settles the current uncertainty over Marmoush’s position in the transfer market. Rather than remaining at Manchester City, the forward is expected to continue his career at Tottenham Hotspur, where he could play a prominent role in De Zerbi’s plans.

The timing of the move remains the only significant uncertainty highlighted in the report. Romano does not expect the announcement to come immediately, but believes the negotiations are sufficiently advanced for the transfer to be completed over the next few days.

Marmoush would therefore be the latest Manchester City player to move to Tottenham during the summer window, following Savinho. The two clubs are expected to continue working towards the completion of the Egypt international’s transfer, with the overall mood described as positive.
