FC Basel U21 complete move for Ghana teenager Vincent Klu-Adjei
Ghanaian midfielder Vincent Klu-Adjei has joined FC Basel U21 from Berekum Chelsea, completing a move to Switzerland at the age of 18.
Klu-Adjei switches from Ghana’s Premier League to Basel’s Under-21 side, which competes in the Promotion League. The transfer was completed on 21 August 2026, marking the next stage of the midfielder’s career outside Ghana.
The teenager leaves Berekum Chelsea after two seasons with the club. He joined their senior team from B. Chelsea II on 1 September 2024 and established a record of 66 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals and playing 3,248 minutes.
Klu-Adjei’s move gives him the opportunity to continue his development within FC Basel’s pathway while making the transition from Ghanaian domestic football to the Swiss system. He will join a Basel U21 squad competing in the country’s third tier, known as the Promotion League.
The midfielder’s arrival adds a Ghanaian player to Basel’s development group and represents a significant change of footballing environment for a player born on 22 May 2008. His senior experience with Berekum Chelsea includes more than 60 league appearances despite his young age.
His previous club career began with B. Chelsea II before the move to Berekum Chelsea, where he spent the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. The transfer to FC Basel U21 now takes him from the club he represented in Ghana’s Premier League to a new team in Switzerland.
Klu-Adjei is listed as a midfielder and will continue his career with FC Basel U21 following the completed transfer.
