Jamal Musiala leaves Bayern Munich friendly after falling for second time in days

Jamal Musiala was forced to leave Bayern Munich’s friendly against Heidenheim after going down without contact, marking the second time in four days that the Germany international has collapsed during one of the club’s pre-season matches.

Musiala fell to the ground in the 61st minute at a time when no opposing player was involved in the incident. He remained on the pitch for a further eight minutes before Bayern Munich’s medical staff intervened and he left the field in the 69th minute.

The nature of the problem has not been made public. Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl said the club was aware of Musiala’s medical condition but would not disclose details. He added that Musiala would explain the situation to supporters himself.

The latest incident follows a similar episode in Bayern Munich’s friendly against RB Leipzig two days earlier. Musiala also went down during that match and later complained of circulation problems resulting from the high temperatures.

He underwent medical examinations after the first incident, with all of the results described as reassuring. However, his early departure against Heidenheim has prompted fresh attention because it occurred so soon after the previous episode.

Musiala had started the match before the incident. The fall came without contact, and the Bayern Munich medical team subsequently became involved before he left the game.

Eberl’s comments indicate that Bayern Munich have assessed the situation, but the club has chosen not to release further medical information at this stage. Instead, Musiala is expected to address supporters directly and provide his own explanation.

The incident therefore represents the second occasion in a matter of days on which Musiala has fallen during a Bayern Munich friendly. His earlier medical checks produced reassuring results, but the latest withdrawal means the club’s medical assessment remains a central part of the situation.

Bayern Munich’s fixture against Heidenheim was a warm-up match, while the previous appearance came against RB Leipzig. On both occasions, the incidents occurred during matches in which Musiala was representing the German club.

The 61st-minute fall and his eventual departure eight minutes later brought an early end to his involvement against Heidenheim. No details beyond Eberl’s comments have been provided about the latest episode, and Bayern Munich have not disclosed a specific diagnosis.
