Aaron Wan-Bissaka is close to joining Aston Villa from West Ham United, with the right-back expected to remain in the Premier League next season.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the 28-year-old is nearing the completion of a loan move containing an obligation for Villa to buy him permanently.

The DR Congo international is set to leave West Ham after the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season. Although the Hammers dropped into the Championship, Wan-Bissaka appears ready to continue playing in the English top flight with Villa.

Villa have identified the former Manchester United defender as a valuable addition to their squad. Known for his recovery pace, one-on-one defending and attacking support from right-back, Wan-Bissaka would bring considerable Premier League experience to Unai Emery’s side.

The agreement is not yet official, but the deal is approaching its final stages. Once the paperwork is signed, the defender will move to Birmingham on loan, with Villa committed to making the transfer permanent under the agreed terms.

For West Ham, the move would reduce the squad following relegation and provide greater certainty over the player’s future. Wan-Bissaka, meanwhile, would gain the chance to remain at the highest level and begin a fresh chapter at Villa Park.
