Wilfried Singo available for €40m as Galatasaray consider defensive sale
Africafoot’s 18 August 2026 transfer round-up is led by uncertainty over Wilfried Singo’s future at Galatasaray, with the Turkish club prepared to listen to offers for the Ivory Coast international before the transfer window closes.
Singo joined Galatasaray only a year ago and remains under contract until 2030. However, the 25-year-old defender has now been placed among the club’s potential departures as Galatasaray look to raise funds for further recruitment.
According to journalist Kaya Temel, Galatasaray will not allow Singo to leave on the cheap. The club is demanding a firm offer of €40m before considering his release.
No interested club has submitted a formal proposal so far. Singo, who previously played for Monaco, continues to train through individual sessions while remaining focused on his sporting objectives.
The defender’s situation is therefore unresolved, with Galatasaray retaining control of the possible deal through their asking price and the length of his existing contract. Unless a club meets the Turkish side’s valuation, Singo is expected to remain available to them as the transfer deadline approaches.
Elsewhere, FK Liepaja have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Michael Okafor on a three-year contract.
Okafor emerged last season with Plateau United and quickly attracted interest from a number of Scandinavian and Qatari clubs. Despite receiving approaches from different markets, the player’s representatives told Footy-Africa that they took time to assess each proposal before choosing the project considered most suitable for his development.
They believe FK Liepaja can provide the young attacker with a stable environment in which to improve his qualities and gain valuable experience. The Latvian club’s project was ultimately selected despite the range of interest in the forward.
The move represents another step in Okafor’s career after his breakthrough campaign with Plateau United. His three-year agreement gives him the opportunity to continue his development at FK Liepaja while adapting to a new footballing environment.
RFC Liege have also strengthened their attack by completing the signing of 20-year-old Ousmane Camara, just hours before the club were due to resume official competition.
The Burkina Faso international began his career at Rahimo FC before moving to Europe and joining Riga FC in Latvia. He then continued his development at FK Auda, where he played in the Latvian top flight and gained experience at the highest level.
Camara now moves on to RFC Liege as the Belgian club reinforce their forward line ahead of the return to competitive action. His previous experience in Latvia, including time in the country’s elite division with FK Auda, forms the latest stage of his progression in European football.
The three developments feature in Africafoot’s live African football news feed, which follows transfer rumours, confirmed moves, records and other stories involving African players.
