Michy Batshuayi completes move to Saudi club Abha FC
Michy Batshuayi has completed his departure from Eintracht Frankfurt, signing for Saudi Arabian club Abha FC.
The move ends the Belgian striker’s short spell in Germany after he fell out of the first-team picture under new Frankfurt head coach Adi Hutter.
Abha confirmed the 32-year-old’s arrival through its official channels, using a Batman-themed announcement to welcome the former Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Fenerbahce forward. Batshuayi now begins a new chapter in Saudi Arabia after Frankfurt agreed to let him leave.
It remains unclear whether Abha have paid a transfer fee for the player, who had one year left on his Frankfurt contract. Frankfurt were keen to remove Batshuayi’s wages from their budget after deciding he did not have a future in Hutter’s plans.
The striker brings substantial top-level experience to Abha, having played in major European leagues and represented Belgium internationally. His move gives the Saudi club an established centre-forward with a proven record in front of goal, while Frankfurt can continue reshaping their squad.
Batshuayi’s exit is part of a wider transition at the Bundesliga side, where several players are expected to face uncertain futures. For the Belgian, Abha offers a fresh opportunity to regain regular minutes and make an immediate impact.
