Hamburg consider move for Fenerbahce’s Guinea striker Sidiki Cherif

Guinea forward Sidiki Cherif is being linked with a move from Fenerbahce to Bundesliga club Hamburg.

The 19-year-old centre-forward joined Fenerbahce permanently from Angers SCO on 1 July 2026 in a deal worth €18m, after spending part of the previous season at the Turkish club on loan. His arrival made him one of the more significant recent additions to Fenerbahce’s squad, but Hamburg are now reported to be monitoring his situation.

Cherif has made one appearance for Fenerbahce in Champions League qualifying this season, without scoring, and has not featured in the Super Lig. The possible move comes only weeks after his permanent transfer to Istanbul.

Born in Dubreka, Guinea, Cherif developed through Angers’ academy before progressing into the first-team setup. He signed a long-term contract with Fenerbahce that runs until 30 June 2030.

Hamburg, who are competing in Germany’s top flight, have been named as the club interested in taking the forward from Fenerbahce. No agreement has been confirmed, and the reported link remains at an early stage.

Cherif’s current market value is listed at €18m, matching the fee Fenerbahce paid for him in July. His contract length and recent arrival mean any potential deal would involve a player who remains tied to the Turkish club for almost four more years.
