Marseille consider €38m move for Real Betis winger Ez Abde

Olympique de Marseille are seriously considering a move for Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli, known as Ez Abde, as they look to strengthen their attack. The French club could explore an opening offer of around €38m for the Morocco international, although Real Betis have set a €60m release clause, according to Fichajes.

Abde, 24, is under contract with the Andalusian club until June 2029 and is being assessed as a potential solution on Marseille’s left flank. His performances during an impressive campaign have significantly increased interest in his availability.

The winger registered 12 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season, marking a notable improvement in his attacking output. His form has also attracted the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, according to exclusive information reported by Africafoot.

Real Betis signed Abde from FC Barcelona for €7.5m. His current market value is estimated at €40m by Transfermarkt, highlighting the rise in his standing since his move to Seville.

Despite the size of the proposed fee, Real Betis have not completely ruled out the possibility of selling him. The club continue to work on improving their financial position, and a major transfer would provide funds to recruit a replacement at a lower cost.

Marseille could face significant competition if they decide to make a formal offer. Newcastle are also monitoring the situation, while Galatasaray have made enquiries about the Morocco international, according to exclusive information obtained by Africafoot.

Abde is currently building up his fitness after suffering an injury while on international duty with Morocco at the beginning of June. He returned to partial first-team training on 11 August and is now working towards being available for Real Betis’ second LaLiga match of the season against Real Sociedad on 21 August.

His fitness could therefore be an important consideration for any interested club, although Marseille’s next move will determine whether the reported interest develops into a formal bid. The French side must decide whether an offer close to €38m would be enough to persuade Real Betis to part with their winger, despite the player’s long-term contract and €60m release clause.

Real Betis are due to face Real Sociedad in the second round of the Spanish league. Betting company 1xBet lists Real Betis as having odds of 2.00 to win, with a draw priced at 3.25 and a Real Sociedad victory at 3.35.
