Barcelona include Hamza Abdelkarim in squad for Real Madrid Clasico

Hamza Abdelkarim has been named in Barcelona’s squad for Sunday’s Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou.

Real Madrid travel to face Barcelona in the Spanish league’s biggest fixture, with kick-off scheduled for 23:00 Cairo time.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has included the Egypt international after he was left out of the squad for the club’s previous match against Real Betis to allow him to play for the reserve side.

The former Al Ahly striker featured for Barcelona Atletic against Oteibo last Saturday and scored in the game. He was then included in the first-team squad for the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Abdelkarim has been selected by Flick for every match since the start of the season, but has played only 12 minutes. His appearance for the reserve team was intended to give him more match fitness and playing rhythm.

Barcelona will be without defenders Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde, who both suffered injuries during the match against Real Betis and have been ruled out of the Clasico.

Dani Olmo is also absent after picking up an injury in the Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.
