Fiorentina consider Lorient left-back Arsene Kouassi in Serie A switch

Arsene Kouassi, a Burkina Faso-Ivorian left-back at FC Lorient, has been linked with a move to Fiorentina in Serie A.

The 22-year-old joined Lorient from AC Ajaccio in July 2025 for a reported €1.2m and remains under contract with the Ligue 1 club until 30 June 2029. His current market valuation is €15m.

Kouassi has made 31 Ligue 1 appearances for Lorient, scoring twice and providing eight assists. He also recorded 24 appearances for the club’s National 2 side, with two goals, before establishing himself in the first-team squad.

The defender began his senior career with Ajaccio after progressing through the club’s under-19 team. He moved from Ajaccio B to the first team in September 2024, before Lorient signed him less than a year later.

Fiorentina are the latest club linked with Kouassi, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that negotiations have reached an advanced stage. Lorient’s long-term contract position and the player’s increased valuation could be significant factors in any potential discussions.

Kouassi’s left-footed profile and experience in Ligue 1 have placed him on Fiorentina’s radar as the Italian club assess options for their defence. He currently remains a Lorient player, with three years left on his contract.
