beIN SPORTS secure live rights for Manchester City v Arsenal Community Shield

beIN SPORTS have secured the live broadcasting rights for the Community Shield meeting between Manchester City and Arsenal, with the match set to take place at Principality Stadium on Sunday, 16 August 2026.

Manchester City, the FA Cup holders, will face Arsenal, the Premier League champions, in the traditional curtain-raiser to the new domestic season. The match will be shown live on beIN SPORTS 1, with the broadcaster obtaining the rights two days before kick-off.

The fixture has been moved away from Wembley Stadium because the national stadium is being used for a number of music concerts. Principality Stadium in Cardiff will therefore host the contest between the two English clubs.

Arsenal hold the record for the most Community Shield victories, having won the competition 14 times. Manchester City are level with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on eight titles.

The last meeting between Manchester City and Arsenal in the Community Shield came in 2023. That match finished 1-1 before Arsenal won 4-1 on penalties to claim the trophy.

This year’s fixture will also mark the beginning of a new managerial era at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has left the club and has been replaced by Enzo Maresca, who previously served as his assistant at the club. Arsenal, meanwhile, will continue under the management of Mikel Arteta.

The Community Shield will provide both sides with an early opportunity to assess their preparations before the Premier League campaign begins. Arsenal are scheduled to open their league season at home against Coventry City on Friday, 21 August, with the match taking place at Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City will begin their Premier League campaign two days later, when they host Bournemouth at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 23 August.

The latest edition of the competition was won by Crystal Palace. They drew 2-2 with Liverpool before securing a 3-2 victory in the penalty shootout.

The Community Shield traditionally brings together the winners of the FA Cup and the Premier League, with this year’s match giving Manchester City and Arsenal the chance to claim an early trophy before their league schedules get under way.
