Maccabi Haifa linked with unattached Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo

Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Maccabi Haifa in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al.

The 28-year-old central midfielder left Spanish side Real Oviedo on 1 July 2026 and is now being discussed as a potential addition for the Israeli club. His market value is listed at €1.4m.

Sibo played in four matches at the 2026 World Cup, starting 75% of those games and featuring for 69% of the available minutes. He did not score or provide an assist during the tournament.

The right-footed midfielder spent two seasons with Oviedo after joining from SD Amorebieta in July 2024. He made 73 appearances in LaLiga2, scoring twice and registering one assist, while also playing 26 times in LaLiga.

Sibo began his senior career in Ghana with Cheetah FC before moving to Armenian club Banants in 2017. He subsequently spent time with Watford, including loan spells at KF Skenderbeu and UD Ibiza, before continuing his career in Spain with Betis Deportivo, Amorebieta and Oviedo.

A move to Maccabi Haifa would take Sibo to the Israeli top flight, with the club identified as the side linked with the midfielder. He remains without a club following his departure from Real Oviedo.
