Omar Fayed begins medical process before proposed Frosinone transfer

Egypt defender Omar Fayed has arrived in Italy to complete the next stage of a proposed move from Fenerbahce to Frosinone.

The 23-year-old travelled on Thursday to undergo a medical and finalise contractual details after the Turkish club agreed a deal to sell him to the Italian side, according to prominent Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Fayed will need to pass the medical before the transfer can be formally completed. The reported agreement is worth about 500,000 euros, with additional incentives included in the package.

Born on 4 July 2003, Fayed stands 1.92m tall and plays as a central defender. He developed through the youth system at El Mokawloon before being promoted to the club’s senior team.

He moved to Fenerbahce in August 2023 on a contract running until June 2027. However, he has spent much of his time away from the Turkish club on loan and has yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for Fenerbahce.

His loan spells have taken him to Serbia, Belgium and Portugal. He first joined Novi Pazar, then played for Beerschot, before spending the 2025-26 season with Arouca. Fayed subsequently returned to Fenerbahce.

The proposed move to Frosinone would represent another step in the defender’s career as he seeks regular senior football and the opportunity to establish himself in Italy.

At international level, Fayed has represented Egypt at youth level and was part of the country’s squad at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He has made 10 appearances for Egypt Under-23s, according to data provided by Transfermarkt.

The agreement remains subject to the completion of the medical examination and the signing of the final contracts. Until those steps are completed, Fayed remains a Fenerbahce player, although the reported terms have placed him on the verge of a move to Frosinone.

Fayed’s career began at El Mokawloon, where he progressed from the academy into the first team before earning a move abroad. His switch to Fenerbahce in 2023 gave him a route into European football, but the series of loan moves has so far prevented him from making a competitive appearance for the Istanbul club.

The transfer to Frosinone would therefore give the Egypt international a fresh opportunity to continue his development and compete for first-team involvement in Italy.
