AS Trencin add Ghanaian midfielder Clement Ansah on free deal

Ghanaian central midfielder Clement Ansah has joined AS Trencin from Dunajska Streda on a free transfer, giving the Slovak club a new option in the middle of the pitch.

The 21-year-old completed the move on 13 August 2026, switching between two clubs competing in the Nike Liga. Ansah’s arrival marks his latest move within Slovakia after spending the previous season with Dunajska Streda.

Ansah has yet to make an appearance for AS Trencin this season. He was not involved in the club’s opening three possible Nike Liga matches or its three UEFA Conference League qualifying fixtures, with no appearances, goals or assists recorded in either competition.

Born in Tema, Ghana, Ansah stands 1.85m tall and favours his right foot. His primary position is central midfield, placing him in a role focused on operating through the centre of the field for his new side.

The move follows a spell at Dunajska Streda, which Ansah joined from North Macedonian club FC Shkupi on a free transfer in August 2025. Before that, he had spent part of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Corum FK in Turkey after joining FC Shkupi from Ghanaian side Bofoakwa Tano earlier that year.

Ansah began his senior club career with Tudu Mighty Jet before moving to Bofoakwa Tano in July 2023. His route to AS Trencin has therefore included football in Ghana, North Macedonia, Turkey and Slovakia by the age of 21.

He joins AS Trencin without a transfer fee and has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027.
