Club Brugge explore deal for Brentford’s England-Nigeria left-back Jayden Meghoma
England-Nigeria left-back Jayden Meghoma is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Brentford to Club Brugge.
The 20-year-old returned to Brentford at the end of May after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Rangers. Meghoma made 27 Scottish Premiership appearances for the club, scoring once and providing four assists, while also featuring eight times in the Europa League.
He joined Brentford from Southampton Under-21s in August 2024 in a deal worth €5.9m and subsequently spent part of his first season with Preston on loan. The defender has made one Premier League appearance in his career, playing four minutes in the competition.
Meghoma’s potential move to Belgium would see him switch the Premier League for the Jupiler Pro League, with Club Brugge reported to be the club interested in securing his services. No transfer fee or probability has been established for the proposed deal.
The left-back’s current contract with Brentford runs until 30 June 2028. He is listed with a market value of €2m and remains a Brentford player while the reported interest from Club Brugge develops.
