Galatasaray stand firm as Al Hilal target Victor Osimhen with €130m proposal

Galatasaray have no intention of selling Victor Osimhen this summer, despite Al Hilal making the Nigeria international their main attacking target for the new season.

The Saudi Arabian club is keen to sign Osimhen and has already made an informal approach in an attempt to persuade Galatasaray to consider a deal. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, an intermediary presented an oral offer believed to be worth €130m.

However, Galatasaray’s position is described as unwavering. The Istanbul club is not prepared to enter negotiations and wants to keep its leading striker, according to exclusive sources cited by Africafoot.

The situation is also complicated by Osimhen’s reported lack of desire to move to Saudi Arabia. With no formal bid submitted directly to Galatasaray, and the player not showing an inclination to settle in Saudi Arabia, the proposed transfer has reached an impasse, Footy-Africa adds.

Osimhen remains under contract with Galatasaray until the summer of 2029. The 26-year-old, who was born in Lagos, enjoyed a productive campaign, scoring 22 goals and providing eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

His current valuation is placed at €75m, while he is reportedly earning €18,750,000 a year in Turkey. That figure is equivalent to 12,187,500,000 FCFA.

Al Hilal’s interest reflects the club’s ambition to strengthen its attack ahead of the forthcoming campaign. The Saudi side sees Osimhen as a priority signing, but Galatasaray’s refusal to discuss a transfer means there is currently no clear route towards an agreement.

For now, Osimhen is expected to remain part of Galatasaray’s plans. The Turkish club is preparing for its opening match of the Turkish league season against Corum FK.

Ahead of that fixture, bookmakers 1xBet list Galatasaray as strong favourites. The Istanbul side is priced at 1.15 to win, with a draw rated at 6.30 and a Corum FK victory priced at 11.

The latest developments leave Al Hilal needing both a formal proposal and a change in the player’s stance if it is to revive its pursuit. Galatasaray, meanwhile, continues to make clear that its preference is to retain Osimhen rather than consider a potentially substantial sale.
