Nicolas Jackson agrees terms as Aston Villa talks with Chelsea move forward

Aston Villa have made progress in their efforts to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, with the Senegal international reportedly agreeing to join Unai Emery’s side.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, negotiations between the two clubs are advancing positively as Aston Villa work to complete a deal for the striker. Jackson is said to have already given his approval to a move to Birmingham.

The proposed transfer is being driven in particular by Emery, who knows Jackson well from their time together at Villarreal. The Spanish manager gave the forward his opportunity at the highest level during his spell in charge of the La Liga club.

Their previous relationship was highly productive, and Emery is keen to work with Jackson again at Aston Villa. The prospect of reuniting the pair is understood to be an important factor in the player’s willingness to make the move.

The main uncertainty now concerns Chelsea’s financial demands. The London club are believed to value Jackson at about £65m, which is approximately €76m, and Aston Villa must find an agreement that meets the Blues’ expectations.

That asking price is significantly higher than Jackson’s valuation on Transfermarkt, where the Senegalese striker is listed at €40m.

Jackson remains under contract with Chelsea until June 2033. His future at Stamford Bridge is unclear after he returned from a loan spell at Bayern Munich, during which he scored 11 goals in all competitions despite receiving limited playing time.

The 24-year-old’s situation is also being monitored by several other clubs, meaning Aston Villa may face competition if Chelsea decide to allow him to leave this summer.

During his loan at Bayern Munich, Jackson was reported to have earned €6,000,000 per year, equivalent to 3,900,000,000 FCFA. Transfermarkt continues to value him at €40m.

Chelsea are due to begin their English league campaign against Fulham shortly. Betting company 1xbet has listed odds of 2.00 for a Chelsea victory, 3.55 for a draw and 3.10 for a Fulham win. It also advertises that its application can be downloaded.
