2027 Spanish Super Cup to carry Riyadh Season sponsorship in Turkey

Riyadh Season has been confirmed as an official sponsor of the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, even though the competition will not be hosted in Saudi Arabia.

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, announced the agreement in a statement published on his official account on X. The sponsorship will connect Riyadh Season with the Spanish Super Cup for the 2027 edition, which is scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Turkey.

Under the agreement, Sela will manage the tournament’s commercial rights and oversee its operational delivery. The company will work alongside the Spanish Football Federation and the Turkish Football Federation as part of the arrangement.

The agreement represents a continuation of Riyadh Season’s involvement in major sporting events, according to the statement. It is also intended to strengthen the event’s international presence through partnerships with leading sports organisations and competitions around the world.

The 2027 Spanish Super Cup will feature Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico de Madrid and Real Sociedad. The four-team tournament is due to be staged at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

It will be the first time since 2021 that the Spanish Super Cup has been held outside Saudi Arabia. Riyadh hosted the 2022, 2023 and 2024 editions, while the most recent two tournaments were played in Jeddah.

The decision means Riyadh Season will remain commercially associated with the competition despite Saudi Arabia no longer being the host country for the 2027 tournament. Istanbul will instead provide the venue for the next edition, with the Ataturk Olympic Stadium selected to stage the matches.

The tournament’s 2027 line-up will include two of Spain’s most prominent clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Atletico de Madrid and Real Sociedad. Their participation will form the sporting basis of an event that continues to have an international format and audience.

Riyadh Season’s sponsorship is part of a wider effort by the Saudi entertainment initiative to build links with major sporting properties beyond the kingdom. The statement described the partnership as supporting high-profile sporting events while expanding Riyadh Season’s global reach.

Sela’s role will cover both the commercial side of the tournament and its operational implementation. Its work will be carried out in cooperation with the football authorities in Spain and Turkey, reflecting the involvement of both federations in the competition’s organisation.

The Spanish Super Cup was staged in Riyadh in 2022, 2023 and 2024 before the latest two editions moved to Jeddah. The 2027 tournament will therefore mark a return to a venue outside Saudi Arabia, while Riyadh Season continues as an official commercial partner.
